Super genes by deepak chopra pdf download
If so, why? I would recommend this to those who are wanting to learn more about who you are and what your potentials could be if you awakened to the possibilities within your DNA. What was one of the most memorable moments of Super Genes?
I can't say one moment, but I really enjoyed some of the studies that were done to explore the potentials within our DNA. I loved his voice and his narration was very good, not dry, but right there with with right emotional inflections for what he was reading.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you? I just see the whole potential for DNA Activation work that will arise up from the science that is being presented. It is time for the science and the spiritual teachers to bring their knowledge together. Any additional comments? It is a very stimulating book and wonderful to listen to so you can think fully along with the audio instead of having to read as well.
Found it expanded my mind more than reading. A lot of scientific knowledge at first, but these first few chapters lays the groundwork for understanding why the lifestyle changes they suggest are so important. Fascinating read! My family always said their obesity and tooth loss was genetic. I found this book amazing! The world is changing around us. Medicine is struggling to keep up with the tremendous paradigm shifts. What if you teach your brain to be unlimited? Speaking of limitations, one of the obvious ones is not being able to predict the result of some of our actions. There is something inside us that is able to predict the future. Chopra and Tanzi tell of an experiment during which participants were asked to look at some photographs, only a few of which depicted a violent scene.
Naturally, the mere look at one of these violent images incited stressful responses in the participants, and the extent of these responses was properly registered by relevant devices. After some time, something strange happened: people started feeling these things microseconds before the violent images appeared on the screen. And only then! Is it possible that we can know about the future more than we think we can? Train your brain through mental and physical exercises, tap into its power through healthy eating habits and being open to new experiences, and yet, you might end up being just a smart, lonely individual or, to be brutally honest, an unhappy intellectual with a wife and two children.
Aristotle was the first one to suggest that personal happiness is the ultimate goal of life and that everything else is merely a way to achieve it. And very few have disagreed with him throughout the past twenty-five centuries.
Well, Chopra and Tanzi start from there and explain how the reason why so many people are unhappy today despite a million-dollar industry related to happiness and thousands of books which explore it is actually quite straightforward: the definition of happiness our brains are infested with is fundamentally wrong.
Most people, you see, equate happiness with external factors: finding the perfect partner, having children, earning a million dollars, becoming a famous person.
The truth is that none of these things will bring you happiness even if you obtain them, because happiness lives inside your brain. In other words, happiness is the result of aligning your goals to your personal values—and nothing more! I didn't read this expecting to gain some huge new revelation, but I felt like I wasted my money on it. Deepak seems to be recycling his ideas a lot lately and I didn't learn anything new.

What I expected to gain from it however was more actual scientific knowledge, such as the function of dopamine and how it is produced, the effects and the potential causes, etc. It was still a thoroughly enjoyable and surprisingly pragmatic piece of scientific and spiritual literature.
Reinvigorates the philosophy of mind debate by putting it in a much larger setting of general well-being, and the influence we can have over our own health if we put our mind to The best parts though are where actual brain science is considered, including some of its shaky assumptions, and alternatives are proposed.
